Perinatal Health Care Award

Lifetime Achievement Award

Recipient Qualifications:  Individual who has dedicated their career to the improvement of health care for mothers and babies in the entire state of Texas. This person(s) should be acknowledged by peers as an expert in a field that supports the TPA mission. 

Frequency Awarded: Annually (if nominations warrant)

History: Initially presented in 1988 to Arnold J. Rudolph, M.D.  This annual award is given in recognition of an individual that has dedicated their career to the improvement of health care for mothers and babies in the state of Texas.

William Tinney Innovations in Perinatal Care Award

Innovation Award

Recipient Qualifications: Community-based program that has offered new services to mothers/babies in their county or community.

Frequency Awarded: Annually (if nominations warrant)

History: This award is in memory of William Tinney, a past president and charter member of TPA.  This award was first given to the Denton Adolescent Prenatal Clinic in the early 1990s.  The William Tinney Innovations in Perinatal Care Award is presented annually to a community-based program that has offered new services to mothers and babies in their county or community.

Paula Webb Award

TPA Commitment Award

Recipient Qualifications: Individual who has shown a consistent, significant commitment in support of the Texas Perinatal Association.

Frequency Awarded: When nominations are presented to the board for consideration. This is not an annual award.

History: This award is in honor of Paula Webb, a long-time board member and a significant contributor to the success of TPA.  It is given usually to a member of the TPA Board who has given the Association extraordinary service while a member of the board.  It can be for a single action or cumulative contributions. This is not meant to be an annual award, but instead to be awarded as deserving individuals are nominated.

Regional Award of Excellence

Regional Conference Award

Recipient Qualifications: Individual or group making strides for families/mothers/babies in their community.

Frequency Awarded: Each regional conference (if nominations warrant)

History: This award nomination comes from the specific conference.  The purpose is to recognize those making a difference at a regional level.
