Amy Ross, MBA, PMP
Current Position: President

Amy Ross is a certified Project Manager (PMP) with over ten years of experience as an Information Technology Project Manager. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Brigham Young University and a Masters in Business Administration from UT Arlington. Currently, Amy teaches the Project Management Professional Certification class at UTEP in El Paso in addition to being a stay at home mother who is involved in volunteer work in her community.


Lisa Platner, PhD(c), MSN, RNC-OB
Current Position: Secretary

Lisa has been working with the Odessa/Midland Regional Conference since it started (about 1993). She has been a champion for interprofessional teamwork before it was popular, “Back in the days we didn’t have a name for it.” She also believes in the importance of being an active member of professional organizations. This is evidenced by her long list of involvement and accomplishments with multiple organizations at the local, to state, to national and international level. A few of the organizations she has supported in Sigma Theta Tau International, Kappa Delta Pi International, American Nurses Association (ANA), Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrical, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), Texas Nurses Association (TNA), Texas Perinatal Association (TPA), to name a few. Lisa is currently working on a PhD in Education with a specialization in educational technology and online learning. She is living her dream in community education for the OB/Gyn Department of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at the Permian Basin where she teaches everything from sex education to Jr High and High School students to interprofessional fetal monitoring courses for nurses and residents.


Stacie Elizondo, BSN, RNC-MNN
Current Position: Treasurer
Board Member Since 2003
Stacie has been in nursing for 20 years, and began her career in maternal child nursing in 1998. She has been the nurse manager for the Women’s Health/Mother-Baby unit for 10 years. Her duties include overseeing nursing practice and quality initiatives for obstetrics and gynecology.
Stacie serves as the current President of TPA, and has held the offices of Secretary and Vice-President. She is active in her community and serves on several committees focused on mothers and babies.
