TEXAS PERINATAL ASSOCIATION

Mission/Vision

Fight Prematurity in Texas

The Texas Perinatal Association is partnering with the Texas Chapter of March of Dimes in continuing to fight prematurity in Texas.

Each year in Texas, over 47,000 babies are born preterm. The rate of premature birth in Texas has increased more than 13 percent in the past decade and now stands at 12.7%, higher than the national rate of 11.9%. Prematurity/low birth weight is the leading cause of death in the first month of life.
TPA will support the March of Dimes Texas Prematurity Campaign through professional education at regional conferences, public policy advocacy and educational articles published in "The Perinatal Advocate".
